The External Affairs & Planning Committee meets on a monthly basis, beginning at 7pm, and is open to the press and public.
The Committee has 'executive powers' meaning that, unlike other Committees, is does not make recommendations to Council for adoption, but rather makes decisions.
Please note if you plan to attend a meeting of the External Affairs & Planning Committee that the Public Gallery can accommodate 32 people seated, with space for one wheelchair user also provided, and only children aged 2 and under will be able to sit on an adult's knee.
From 7th June 2007 and the introduction of a new structure, three sub-committees (Education, Health and Co-ordinating) now also report through the External Affairs and Planning Committee.
Its remit is to consider:
relevant deputations from members of the public and other organisations
planning
roads
housing
water & sewerage
all consultative papers from outside bodies
political matters
