At 23, Councillor Adair is the youngest elected member on the Council. His family has been associated with the DUP since its inception and he is the great nephew of former Ards Councillor, Joe Thompson. While newly elected, Councillor Adair has experience in lobbying for the local community as a company director of Portavogie (& District) Development Group Ltd and through his service as the secretary of Portavogie Action Group.

Robert has lived all his life in the village of Portavogie and was educated at Portavogie PS and Glastry College, where he completed his A Levels. Robert is a Christian and active member of the Free Presbyterian church. A sufferer of Dyspraxia he has lobbied to raise awareness of the condition as well as support for those who suffer similar disabilities.

He aims to be an energetic, trustworthy and hardworking Councillor who will do whatever he can to help anyone and everyone across the Ards Peninsula.
