Newly elected in 2011, Councillor Cleland was previously a member of the Council between 1997 and 2005. She has been a community worker and volunteer all her adult life, as well as working in administrative and managerial positions. She currently works in the Alliance constituency office in Newtownards, specialising in housing and benefit issues.
