First elected in 2005, Councillor Boyle is a Director of Portaferry Regeneration and Chair of ' Brite Sparx ' Youth Drama Group based in Portaferry. He is a committee member of Portaferry Community Policing Liaison Group and has a keen interest in economic development particularly in sustainable rural initiatives and tourism throughout the Ards Borough. He is also a keen follower of all sporting activities and has a particular interest within the GAA having held various administrative positions in Down including that of a past Vice- Chairman of the Down Hurling Board.
