Councillor Carson held the position of Mayor in 2006-07 and Deputy Mayor in 2005-06 and 2004-05. He is the current Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee . Councillor Carson is a former fisherman, trawler owner and RNLI volunteer. He is also a past Chairman of the Northern Ireland Fish Producers Organisation and a National Council Member of the 'Fishermen's Mission'. He is also a Governor in two schools.
