DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

The Development Committee meets on a monthly basis and is not open to the press or public. All Councillors are members of the Committee. The Committee Chairman is Councillor Stephen McIlveen .

From 7th June 2007 and following restructuring, the Development Committe now also includes the remit of the former Borough Development Committee.

Its remit is to consider:

 the general economic development of the Borough

 the allocation of European funding in respect of applications

 all other economic development matters, tourism development, events and Exploris, the Council's aquarium in Portaferry.
