CARS - ABANDONED/UNWANTED
The Council has the power to remove an abandoned vehicle if:
(i) the vehicle appears to be genuinely abandoned and
(ii) is in a condition fit to be destroyed and poses a threat to public safety.
Reports of abandoned vehicles will be investigated with the help of other relevant agencies and, where appropriate, removal notices will be issued.
Owners of unwanted vehicles may avail of our service to have their vehicle removed and scrapped on completion of the relevant form and payment of the fee of £56.00. Please note that we also require production of the vehicle's log book or registration documents for this service. A form requesting the removal of an unwanted vehicle can be downloaded here.
