| Accessibility: 4th February 2012 ARTS FUNDINGArds Arts aims to encourage the development of artistic activity and awareness of cultural diversity in all our communities and makes funds available to increase the level of artistic activity in the Borough and promote artistic awareness and cultural diversity in the local community. Annually the Arts Centre offers two Bursaries for amateur and professional artists. In April each year we look for a professional artist to receive the Lord Dunleath Memorial Bursary for residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Annaghmakerrig, County Monaghan, a well known artists' retreat. Download an application for the 2011 Bursary here . In July we offer a 5 day bursary to attend the John Hewitt Summer School, an internationally renowned literary based programme that takes place in Armagh and is of particular benefit to writers, poets or anyone with a keen interest in literature. Funding for professional artists to undertake training is also available - use the contact details below for further information. If you are a constituted Community Group or youth/after school club you can also apply to Ards Arts for up to £250 for a range of arts based activities and projects. Given the limitations imposed, and the amount of resources available, Ards Arts will seek to make the most effective use of the funds provided for this area of work. Groups and organisations making applications for funding, must demonstrate fully how their project meets the objectives of the programme. Ards Arts Committee will only consider grant aid applications that are deemed to be in accordance with the stated priorities and objectives.
