ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

Ards is the only Council in Northern Ireland to have established a team dedicated to tackling anti-social behaviour.

A three-strong anti-social behaviour unit works alongside local community police officers across the Ards area to deal with a range of issues, from people causing annoyance to the consumption of alcohol in public places - the kinds of problem which can affect local people's quality of life. By building up a picture of problem areas, the anti-social behaviour unit is able to target hot spots, increase high profile patrols and take more enforcement action. The Unit will also be developing an education programme, working with schools, youth groups and community groups.

The Anti-Social Behaviour Team is based at Newtownards Police Station and can be contacted on 028 9182 4044.
