SPREADING THE 'NET', DONAGHADEE STYLE

A new website, www.visitdonaghadee.com was launched on the Pier last week. It provides information for local people and visitors and allows local traders to promote their goods and services to an even wider audience, across the world!

Commenting on the new website, the Mayor of Ards, Councillor Robin Drysdale said "this is a great resource as it lets the people of the village promote their services and the attractions in the area. Also it gives visitors, from all over the world, valuable information before they arrive, to help them plan for their stay and what they want to do when they get here."

Describing the benefits, Councillor Angus Carson, Chair of the Council's Development Committee, said "This site will allow all local businesses to have a free listing in the Business directory section, where visitors to the site can find what they are looking for. If the local traders want to add more detail and promote their businesses, they can avail of additional space, as web based marketing can be bought and developed for the site.

"If the local people get involved in the website, both by contributing to its contents and using it themselves, it has the potential to become a very powerful marketing tool.

"It can be a showcase for Donaghadee and an excellent resource for local people and visitors alike as it includes information on where to stay, what's on, places to visit and a business directory." He added.

The website has been jointly funded and developed by Ards Borough Council and the Donaghadee Chamber of Trade.
