COUNCIL'S BOROUGH INSPECTORS SERVICES OBTAIN CHARTER MARK

The Licensing and Regulatory Service, Ards District Policing and Community Safety Partnerships and Ards Anti Social Behaviour team, all part of the Borough Inspectors Office, were awarded the Charter Mark Standard, recently. This is the UK Government's national standard for excellence in customer service.

As part of the Chief Executive's department, the Borough Inspectors Office has undergone significant changes in recent times, including the development of the antisocial behaviour team and managing the newly introduced Town Centre CCTV Scheme.

In concluding his report, John Thurgood, Independent Assessor, stated that 'the Borough Inspectors Office is a closely-knit team of dedicated professional delivering high levels of customer service. The needs of the residents of the Borough feature highly on the work agenda and the sensitive and enabling approach taken by the team means that significant progress has been made to provide a safe community that is inclusive of all sections of the community'. He went on to write 'I am pleased to pass on my recommendation to [the] certificate committee that Ards Borough Council Borough Inspectors Office be recognised as meeting the Charter Mark Standard'. The Certificate will last for three years.
