COUNCIL OPENS NEW 'LIGHT' FITNESS SUITE

Ards Borough Council is to open a new 'light' fitness suite in Ards Leisure Centre, after extensive refurbishment.

'Momentum Light' uses a 'lighter' approach to exercising muscles and joints through special toning chairs designed for people who are unsure or uncomfortable about attending a regular gym, are recovering from an injury or have a particular medical condition.

Six new toning chairs have been included in the refurbishment, along with a range of cardiovascular equipment to improve fitness and stamina and a hydro massage bed which uses jets of water to perform a full-body or area massage at the push of a button. The equipment is simple and easy to use and no special clothes or shoes are required.

Members of Momentum Light have unlimited use of the facility, as well as access to the swimming pool, health suite and all classes in the Centre's Energy programme. Healthy eating advice and the Unislim Food Maximising Plan are also available.
