PUBLICATION SCHEME

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, every public authority must publish and maintain a Publication Scheme which sets out the information they routinely make available to members of the public.

Our Publication Scheme, effective from 1 January 2009, follows the model scheme for all public authorities which was drawn up by the Information Commissioner who is responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with the Freedom of Information Act.

It details the types or 'classes' of information which are available from the Council and you should be able to find all of this information on our web site, which is being updated regularly.

If the information you require does not appear to be included in the Publication Scheme, then you may wish to request the information using your right under the Freedom of Information legislation.

The classes of information in our scheme are:

Who we are and what we do
Organisational information, structures, locations and contacts

What we spend and how we spend it
Financial information relating to projected and actual income and expenditure, procurement, contracts and financial audit.

What our priorities are and how we are doing
Strategies and plans, performance indicators, audits, inspections and reviews.

How we make decisions

Our policies and procedures
Current written protocols, policies and procedures for delivering our services and responsibilities.

Lists and registers
