Elections 2014

In April 2015, Ards Borough Council and North Down Borough Council will merge to form a new Council, one of eleven being created across Northern Ireland.

 

Elections for the new councils were held on Thursday 22 May 2014 (the same day as the European Parliamentary Elections) and 40 councillors were elected to a ‘shadow’ council.

 

This shadow council will serve until April 2015 before officially becoming the new North Down and Ards District Council. The existing Ards and North Borough Councils will continue to operate until 31 March 2015.
